Dakota has surgery, is recovering thanks to donations
If you have watched Eyewitness News in the past few weeks, you probably remember the black lab named Dakota.
Dakota was hit by a car. Her family was forced by the animal control department to have her leg amputated or put Dakota down.

Her family did not have the money for the surgery, but after the story, Eyewitness News viewers wanted to help.
Affordable Pet Hospital, 8150 Hageman Road, offered to do the surgery free of charge, but enough donations came in to cover the cost.
Dakota's leg was removed Tuesday, and she is doing well in recovery.
